WorldSkills Hi-tech

WorldSkills Hi-Tech is a competition in vocational excellence among the specialists of the largest businesses in the country aged 16 to 49, held by WorldSkills Russia since 2014.

The main purpose of WorldSkills Hi-Tech Competitions is to produce highly skilled specialists trained according to the international standards for hi-tech industries, update the mechanisms of career guidance, develop skills, form expert communities and improve labour efficiency.

WorldSkills Hi-Tech serve as a tool for the development and implementation of new educational programmes in colleges. New skills get formed based on the demand of industry. Employers serve as initiators. WorldSkills standards formed by experts are used for the rapid formation of educational programmes in new modern disciplines with great success.

Some WorldSkills Hi-Tech skills are universally found among skilled industrial professions — those applied in all types of production, e.g., Welding and CNC Milling. Other skills are represented in the Future Skills module which aims at the development of the professions of the future.

In 2018, the WorldSkills Hi-Tech Competition became Eurasian, and in 2019, the BRICS countries joined the competition. In 2020, the Skills Competition was held in a hybrid online/onsite format for the first time.
