WorldSkills Juniors

WorldSkills Russia Juniors is a WorldSkills Russia project the main mission of which is to provide an opportunity for school students to consciously choose a profession in a rapidly changing world, define the future path of their education and find their places in the job market in the future

WorldSkills Russia Junior Competitions enable students to try out a particular profession, get information on it from representatives of the professional community, understand how the industry is formed and see the prospects for career development.

Regional junior competitions are held throughout the country simultaneously with main competitions and include qualification for a National Skills Competition. The team that will participate in the world competition is formed from the winners of these competitions. In 2017, Russian school students represented their country at WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 for the first time.

All junior skills are developed according to the logic of the main skills of WorldSkills (both existing international ones and new ones, for example, in the sphere of Future Skills). In most cases, they are based on an adult skill adapted for the age and capabilities of the young competitors.

Participation in the Skills Competitions based on the WorldSkills methodology is not just a useful experience for a school student but also forms a basis for professional development.

For example, achieving the status of a highly skilled specialist in a skilled profession through studying in college or university, getting a non-systematic education in a new digital profession in combination with fundamental higher or online education or forming a team for a future startup.
